Bronwyn Rees

President

Bronwyn and her husband were approached 23 years ago to become part of a new Lions Club in their community. The organisation’s values and purpose are aligned with its core values of service to others.

A year later they would become chartered members before transferring to Lions Club of Toowoomba West in 2020. 

Having held positions with the Lions, Bronwyn finds the challenge of being President of the Lions Club of Toowoomba West rewarding.

She enjoys seeing every cent earned from the community go back to the community. Bronwyn is proud to be part of this worldwide organisation.  

Marshall Cox

Vice President

Born in Mackay, Marshall spent his working life in the building industry, working in several different roles throughout Queensland before moving to the Garden City in 1992.  

Marshall joined the Lions Club of Toowoomba West in 1995 and since then has held a variety of positions within the Club. He serves as the Club’s Vice President and is the current Chairman of the Toowoomba Christmas Wonderland project. 

Passionate about serving the community, on top of his commitments with the club, Marshall is a qualified Justice of the Peace. 

Marshall has been honoured to receive a Life Membership with the Lions Club International. 

Patrick Allport

Treasurer

Initially inducted as a Lion in 1999, Patrick has served in Brisbane Macgregor Lions Club, Lions Club of Coolangatta & Tweed Head and Lions Club of Toowoomba West.  

Patrick decided to become a Lion when he was nearing retirement and wanted to do something meaningful with his time once he finished work.

He would quickly get involved with the wide range of activities available. Enthusiastic about community service work, the Lion’s motto of “We Serve” resonates with Patrick. 

His involvement as a Lion has enabled him to continue using his professional skills as an accountant.

Having served in several Lions’ executive positions, Patrick enjoys the social opportunities that come with being involved with the Lions Club, forming long-lasting friendships. 
 

Natalie Budgen

Secretary

Natalie has been involved in community service organisations since 1988. Her involvement with Lions began with fundraising for the Lions Medical Research Foundation as Miss Personality Entrant in 1992-93.

As a result, she followed in her father’s footsteps and became a member of the Lions Club of Toowoomba West. 

Currently a serving member of Lions International and have held numerous executive positions.

Natalie was part of the 2017 Centenary Committee and is currently the Zone 3 Chair and Secretary of the Lions Club of Toowoomba West. 

Currently, Natalie is a serving member of Lions International and has held positions of President, Secretary, and District Zone Chairperson.

Natalie was also on the 2017 Centenary Committee and am currently the Zone 3 Chair and Secretary of the Toowoomba West Club.  

She is a recipient of the Professor Ian Frazer Humanitarian Award.

David Orton

Membership Chairman

David and his wife joined the Lions Club of Toowoomba West in 2012 to give back to the community. 

Being involved with the Club has given them the chance to meet other service-minded people, and make new friends while working and fulfilling a purpose together. 

In his role, he has met numerous Lions from other clubs across the country. He encourages other community-minded to come and meet with the Lions Club of Toowoomba West to learn more.
